Is there never any one saying just how painfully sensitive the throttles are on all FSX turbo props Mark? My Duke Turbine is the same .Never again will I get an other turbine because of this , is there not a tweak or a magic trick to fix this . I run FSX with Precision Flight Control Quadrants, not set in FSUIPC and its not always fun as you barely advance the throttles and off they go , I looked and searched on this subject and never see any post to address this. ------------Thanks Louis
No, I haven't heard this particular criticism, although there is a consensus that there is far too much lag in the turboprop response to power, which makes it very hard to control speed and descent rate precisely. Regarding sensitivity, you say you aren't using FSUIPC. If you were to use FSUIPC you could add a curve to the throttle axes, which can be exponential or logarithmic. An exponential curve would reduce the sensitivity at the bottom (idle) end. In other words, you would need to move the lever further for the same power increase. There are very likely ways to change parameters in the individual aircraft.cfg files too, but I don't have any experience of that.
Thanks Mark , I tried it and for sure makes a difference , I think I have the slider set at 3 or 4 on the downward side, and I can always pull that down some more. I 'll play with both the Duke Tur. and this one some more and come back and let you know but so far big difference . In FSUIPC you'll see there's a special throttles part for PFC , looks like setting the throttles for Precision Flight Controls is a little different.
