Hey, Mark.
A few questions for you about spanning multiple monitors. I currently have a Dell 29" widescreen monitor and am considering adding an additional monitor on each side so I can span the main windshield view across all three as you have done in your setup. My video card is a GTX970 with 1 DVI, 1 HDMi, and 3 DisplayPort 1.2 slots. I am also hoping to have a fourth monitor running instruments.
My questions:
1. Considering I have a pretty new and fast computer, is it realistic to think I can get good performance with 4 monitors on one computer and one graphics card?
2. Can I span across three monitors if all three monitors are not the same? I was imagining adding a couple 24" monitors to the sides of the 29" and running something like 6400X1080. Do you know if it will cause problems with all three monitors not being the same model?
3. Will I need to do anything tricky to configure this monitor arrangement in FSX? Are there any tips you could offer or resources you could point me to?
Thanks so much for all the help!
Best,
-Noah

Setting up to run a 3-screen VC view is just a matter of setting up '2D Surround' in the nvidia control panel. It doesn't matter if the screens are different models or sizes as long as you run them all at the same resolution (although it may look wrong if they are different sizes). You ought to be able to get the fourth monitor to work too, although I never got this to work on the same card. (I think this is because I bought a cheap Displayport adapter that doesn't work!) Whether your PC will drive it successfully at that resolution is another issue. I have trouble running consistently with acceptable performance and I run a 4Mp display - you are proposing to run 7Mp. Admittedly you have a better card than I do and maybe a better PC too. I would say it is quite optimistic if you want to run weather too. I'm not sure where is agood to look for information. There are a lot of people who post in the Orbx forums who say they get super performance, including weather, at outrageous resolutions, but I have learned to be sceptical of such claims.
