Hey guys, here are a couple pictures of my beginning set up. I will keep posting as I progress. This is just where I started. I am probably going to use the screen pictured here as an instrument panel and throw my 40" HDTV behind it for the actual scenery views and what not. Not sure. As I sit now I have the following equipment: Saitek Pro Flight Yoke Saitek Throttle Quad Saitek Flight Pro Rudder Pedals FSX Gold PC: i7 870 Quad Core @ 2.92 GHz GeForce GTX 970 4GB 8 GB RAM 750w Power Supply 27 in Monitor Next step is to build something to enclose my yoke and throttle quad. I'm already playing with setting up different things for the buttons, and will probably invest in a trim wheel to fee up two of the default buttons on my yoke. (Unless someone has already built a trim wheel and would like to impart that knowledge onto me.) Anyway. It's a start. Can't wait to start digging into building my panels! picture1picture2

Chris, your images don't show and I don't know why. I added links to your message so we can get to them. (You could also try uploading as attachments.)

Thanks for posting the pics and keep us updated on your progress! I bet you have a lot of fun making the panels. Flight simulation is an amazing platform for creativity.

So I know I have been gone a while but I finally got some time to start putting together my Autopilot panel!! I need to make a few slight adjustments to the graphics, just a couple of labels that need to be moved a bit, and more gray around the edges. It would have been right but I couldn't get my printer to get rid of the margins enough to stretch it right. So for now I am foregoing a wood box frame and just stuck an appropriately sized plastic bin on the back to protect the wires while I wait for my interface board to get in. I may actually keep it there and run wires through the holes in the side. Haven't decided how I want it yet. But as of right now it sits nicely on my desk, so that's a plus! I'm going to attempt to upload pictures, although last time it didn't work right for some reason. Another huge THANK YOU to Mark for sending this all the way here for me! Hi Chris, great to see some pics. I just have a couple of comments. First, you have the acrylic sheets back to front - the cutouts (bigger holes) for the rotaries are supposed to go on the back! Actually it looks okay in your pics once the knobs are on, so maybe you can keep it that way. Second, I'm guessing you trimmed the edges of the paper after you screwed the panel together - it will look much better if you don't do that once you get the final graphics, although I appreciate this is a work in progress. You probably ought to tinker a bit more with your printer settings too, the image scaling doesn't look right.
Good to see it coming together. I think your mounting looks good!

I used my Dremel on low power to clean up the little bits of paper left over. Scaling is definitely off by just a bit, I set margins to zero and still wasn't able to span the full 11" width. I really just put it together today because I was anxious to do so. I plan to go to kinkos or something to get my graphics printed on photo paper with the correct dimensions. Since I made the design on MS Paint it wasn't perfect. But I am very pleased with the glimpse at the final product!
