Thanks to Jessica for a great write-up of my eBook! Sorry I had to bump the price up 50p because of Amazon's rules on minimum prices. (Eagle-eyed readers will also notice that the book subtitle changed somewhere along the line ) I definitely recommend this issue, which is mostly devoted to GA flying. And wow, PMDG is doing a real aeroplane at last! I'm gonna need a bigger throttle quadrant...

Hey! How cool is that?! I'm happy for you, Mark!
"And wow, PMDG is doing a real aeroplane at last"
A PMDG GA plane should be amazing. Speaking of amazing... A2A has just released their "Comanche 250" too.
Looks like I'm going to go hunting for Lvars soon! :-)

A PMDG GA plane should be amazing. Speaking of amazing... A2A has just released their Cherokee too. Yes, I have been looking at the Cherokee. Looks pretty darned good. It would be good to know if it's driveable from switches. As for the PCP feature, it's certainly perked up eBook sales for the past few days. I am hoping that will continue for a month or so as the mag gets out there. If that happens I might recover about 25% of what I've spent on the whole kit experiment

In fact, I designed my switches for the Cherokee. (BTW, I meant to write "Comanche 250" instead of "Cherokee" in my previous post so I will edit that)
The Comanche 250 is A2A's newest release.
I hope your recover the full amount!!

Looks like some of us cannot get Almost Aviation the eBook as the Amazon site appears to be playing up. Ah well... Try again later.

Hi mark,
I purchased the book after reading PCPilot. A great book with some good tips, I have already got my perspex and created my own panel.
It would be nice to have the book in pdf so it can be printed out, (I dont like ebooks)any way of doing this with kindle or even getting a pdf copy?

It would be nice to have the book in pdf so it can be printed out, (I dont like ebooks)any way of doing this with kindle or even getting a pdf copy? Hello Pete, glad you liked it. The decision to go with Kindle and DRM was deliberate to avoid the unconstrained copying I think is inevitable if I put a simple PDF out there. I am thinking about expanding the book in the future, so maybe I will consider a print edition. I used to sell a Visual Basic book that was printed on demand and the quality was great, but the unit cost (to me) was something like £3.50, even eight or nine years ago. I will have a look at Amazon's Create Space, which I think is a way to add a print edition. P.S. Can we see some pictures of your panel?!

Hi Mark,
I did not think about that!
I am going to do some more work on my panel now and will post some pictures on completion. It is only a small panel but needed and been thinking about a better one for a while. Before it was just mounted into project box.
Can you tell me the laser cutting company that you use as I am suffering from the melting senarion no matter how slow I go!

Can you tell me the laser cutting company that you use as I am suffering from the melting senarion no matter how slow I go! The company I used was Cutting Technologies. The cost for my sample job (four acrylic sheets, 28cm x 15cm) was about £100, which I think was their minimum order value. You can supply your own vector artwork but for a 'rectangle with holes' job you can (thankfully) supply it as a table of measurements with a rough sketch and they will set it up for you. I am surprised you cannot get holes without melting. How big are they, and what kind of drill bits are you using?

I have now got it sorted, i am using the flat wood bits as advised. I think it is a matter of speed and practice!
I have now completed my first panel and it looks the dogs do dah's. I went for a smoked light grey top sheet and this gives it just the right appearance I think. I am not sure how I can post pictures on here, do I have to register first?

I am not sure how I can post pictures on here, do I have to register first? It looks like you need to register to post pictures as attachments. However, you can link to pictures hosted elsewhere. I suggest www.fsfiles.org to put pictures to link to.
