Hi Mark just found your forum, good to get some ideas and info as I am tinkering at the moment having just started looking at adding to the flight sim experience. Have built a stand alone throttle quad so its starting to get infectious now.

Hello Mark!
I think, this is very good idea, we have seen your serious cockpit but I'm curios, maybe some other users too... :-))

Good to see some people signing up. Maybe people want to check in here and say a bit about themselves and what they're interested in? Hello, Raphael here, from Vancouver, BC, Canada. Into summing since the first version of FS, played on an Apple II+. Got my PPL about ten years ago, as well as my float and night rating. My grandpa was responsible for my obsession with planes, as he used to take me to the local airport to watch the planes take off and land. I'll be posting progress of my "new and improved" flightdeck in the coming months...

I7 3.7, N 660ti 2g, 32g @1600, os wds7 pro on C: ssd, fsx on D: ssd, Trker ir5, Ezdoc, matrox with wideaspect fov three screens & 1 for panel, ms ffb joystick, Thrustmaster joystick for heli collective control, satiek yoke/switch panel, throttle,ch pedals i1081.photobucket.com/albums/j348/rorichts1/1.jpggreetings nebie from Iowa usa I find this forum very helpful and personal have enjoyed what I have been able to glean so far. It offers a wealth of info. To date as you can see my sim has been purchasing manufactured items but this now opens up new ideas. Built my rig from scratch mostly adding as I go over the last two years but did up grade my processor about 3 months ago good addition. Have just added FSUIPC and Ezdoc so now the challenge of balancing the settings in both to make my flights as real as possible. I'm finding Ezdoc functions not being the same from one aircraft to the next, sure it is a setting I'm missing but will continue to expore. For the most part fly conventional small ga and use dead reckoning for my trips. I am retired from answering my alarmclock so now can enjoy what and when. I interests are portrait art, riding my classic bike, and rw flying when the weather permits. Have ppl, tailwheel, and hp/com next on the list is twin time soon and this weekend will be attending ground school for formation flying. Couple of weeks ago purchased a partly completed fuselage of a Neiuport 17 Bi-plane experimental.

Couple of weeks ago purchased a partly completed fuselage of a Neiuport 17 Bi-plane experimental. Well that's a good opening line, kudos already! GA is my thing in FSX too, though I have not gotten into helicopters (not really tried). Perhaps that's for another day, another cockpit setup! I am sure some here use EZCA so you can maybe get advice. I do, though I am not a power user and use it mainly for its motion effects and to give me back control of the 'home' eyepoint (as you will see in the Autopilot+ video). I am envious of your real-world exploits and only wish I had the finance/climate to accommodate. P.S. checking out your pics and I have my 'twin' rating too

That is sadness, ya I latched to that "98" 1100 class about three ago, my biggest disappointment is that I live on country gravel road so in my mind days for me to enjoy a ride are limited

I've also flown mostly tailwheel although I doubt I'm as proficient as most, my PPL is not current. I soloed in a C-120 (should have never sold it). Like Mark, I also have my (motorcycle) twin rating! Sounds like you have a lot of experience and look forward to seeing your simpit progress! It will be interesting to see what you accomplish with that MS Sidewinder FFB. Scott

Not doctored, although that isn't typical weather! Earlier that same day: This is the same scenery, give or take about ten miles, that features in this video:
