Hi Mark. I just watched your lates MSFS 2020 video. It looks amazing! I don't have P3D or the recent Xplane so I'm not used to seeing that degree of realistic shadows, reflections, ground shadows, spotty windshields, etc. The wind turbines even at low altitude barely seemed to affect the performance, if at all. The 3D grass was also impressive. Thanks for your explanation of how the scenery and autogen works and how third parties are already getting involved. Sorry if I missed this but, are you flying 2020 on your sim PC, or on another PC? Are you overclocking your PC or doing anything special as of now? Seems I recall you allowing the sim to adjust performance automatically in terms of settings? No doubt I'll purchase it very soon. I'd really like to have a better PC to install it on. Again, thanks for posting your videos. Looking forward to others. BTW, I liked the rough landing at the end of the video! I've done that a few times - at airports!

Hi Scott.
I am running on the sim PC, which is an i7-7700K with an auto-overclock of 9%, which means it runs at 4.6GHz. It has 32Gb of RAM and a GTX-1070 graphics card. I have left everything at the default settings, which the program sets according to what it thinks you can achieve. Mostly these seem to be high settings, although I haven't loked at the details. It includes things that I would never have turned on in P3D or FSX such as light bloom, lens flare, shadows, etc. The autogen setting sare (subjectively) very high, so I get lots of trees and buildings, and everything seems to cast shadows on the ground. As you have seen, the cockpit shadows are great. And the reflections too - I don't know if it's in the video but when the moon is overhead, you get an accurate reflection on the cowling in front of you!
The performance with these settings is exceptional by P3D standards. Subjectively I detect a drop in smoothness when runing weather, but it's not huge. Occasionally I had transient stuttering, such as when I was flying around Disneyland, but it genuinely seemed transient. The only major difference from my P3D and setup is that I am running a single 1080p screen, rather then three. I am also running TrackIR, of course.
Even if we didn't have the clever custom scenery areas this looks to me like what you'd get if there was an Orbx 'True Earth Global' product with massively-improved performance. I hope this holds up when I do a bit more exploring. So yes, it is looking good so far!

Enjoyed the "2020 Foresight" video Mark. I know you will continue to dive into it and it's nice to have this resource for when I finally commit! BTW, your reply to Ramon was spot on!

He's just looking for trouble. I can remove comments of course, but when someone makes a fool of themselves I don't mind leaving it on show. I might even get another 'hate mail' video out of it in due course. I see there's a new MSFS 2020 patch and it looks like you can't skip them, so who knows what that's going to do. Never mind, I unexpectedly have 'something else' to occupy me for my next video, so look out for that

Honeycomb Bravo Quadrant Unboxing - Hahaha! It seems to be getting mixed reactions :/ Honestly - great concept but half an hour in my freezing cold garage was enough and I went with what I got! Review coming soon...

Honeycomb Bravo Throttle Quadrant Review: 5.5K+ views! Lot's of positive comments! Good for you Mark! It was mentioned but I too enjoyed the "QUAD" and the "icons/badges" (for lack of a better description) that you strategically placed on the screen as well as the cut to accidentally bumping the handles. Haha! As always, appreciate your candor. I wonder if a 3D printer would be beneficial in regards to the handles. Thanks for the grins. Oh yeah, the T-shirt get's a thumbs up, it's almost as good as the coffee formula T-shirt.

And I appreciate the appreciation
