THE COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED!
THE PRIZES
I am going to give away one GPS+ kit and one Autopilot+ kit. These are not the simple quick-start kits, these kits have all the components and everything you need to build the panel. Components have the wires pre-attached, so no soldering necessary. The only things you need to add are the Leo Bodnar BBI-32 (or alternative) controller board and the printed graphics. The Bodnar board costs £30.
THE TASK
Create your own graphic design for either the GPS+ panel or the Autopilot+ panel (or both). My designs are white text on black with some lines and a few arrows to group the controls. Yours can be black and white or you can use colour. Change the fonts, add graphics and logos, or whatever you want. You can use the original templates as a starting point, downloadable from the support forum.
THE WINNERS
The GPS+ design and the Autopilot+ design that I like best will win! The same person cannot win both categories.
(Note that for shipping outside of the UK mainland the timber frame parts will not be included. For expedited international delivery the winner can opt to pay half the shipping, otherwise an economy service will be used.)
THE RULES
To enter, you need to be a registered user of this forum.
To submit an entry, post a picture of your design in a comment in this thread.
You can enter as many times as you want.
By entering you agree that I can show your designs in the publicity for my kits and panels.
I reserve the right to change the rules if I want, but I won't do so unreasonably.
The competition runs from NOW until midnight 30th April BST (GMT+1)

THE RECOMMENDATIONS
- It will help everyone if you make your designs to the same size as the originals. To this end, please download the panel templates and use these as your starting point. However, for your entry you may wish to post a smaller illustration of your panel design. (Please ask if you do not know how to post pictures!)
- I strongly recommend that you do not put the text captions closer to the component holes. You can vary the font and size of the captions but again I recommend you do not vary the sizes too much as my designs were the result of a lot of experimentation around readability.
- The templates include illustrations of the installed components at approximately actual size and I suggest you incorporate these into your designs when you post your entries. (This means your entry will look like a picture of the assembled panel rather than the panel with holes in.)
- I suggest that anything you want to be backlit does not come within 25mm (one inch) of any edge. This allows comfortably for mounting the panels.
